Logan Corzatt was recently announced as the Security Savings Bank Academic Scholarship recipient. The $1,000 scholarship is awarded to one qualified student each year and is renewable for four years at an academic or technical college.

Logan is the son of Brad and Robin Corzatt. He graduated from Monmouth-Roseville High School and plans to study Animal Science at BlackHawk East College this fall.

Security Savings Bank offers its scholarship through the Edward Arthur Mellinger Educational Foundation. Students from Warren and Henderson counties who apply for the Mellinger Scholarships are also eligible for the Security Savings Bank scholarship, and the recipient is chosen by the Mellinger Foundation.

The Edward Arthur Mellinger Educational Foundation was established in 1959 by Inez A. Hensleigh of Monmouth, Illinois. Mrs. Hensleigh created the Foundation in memory of her brother, Edward Arthur Mellinger, a pioneering electrical engineer. Mellinger, who had initially intended to fund an educational foundation, left his assets to his sisters after his passing. Mrs. Hensleigh later used these funds to establish the Foundation, which has since awarded over $40 million in scholarships to thousands of students.

The Mellinger Foundation's mission is to support undergraduate students from Warren and Henderson counties, among others, by providing financial aid to help alleviate the burden of college costs. The Security Savings Bank Academic Scholarship, administered through the Mellinger Foundation, exemplifies this commitment by offering support to deserving students like Logan Corzatt.
