Engines Roar at Lewistown’s Truck and Tractor Pull

By: Forgottonia Times™ Report

The 8th Annual Lewistown Truck and Tractor Pull brought together participants and spectators from all over the state in an impressive display of power and skill. The event featured a wide array of trucks and tractors whose drivers showcased their vehicle's strength and performance as they competed to pull a weighted sled as far as possible down the track.

Colton Roberts, a dedicated participant and Fulton County resident, entered the competition with a 1950 Dodge truck in the daily driver diesel class and a 1967 Plymouth Belvedere Wagon in the stock turbo class. Both vehicles, powered by Cummins engines, showcased Roberts' passion for building "oddball stuff."

In an interview, Roberts shared his challenges leading up to the event: "I started building the Belvedere wagon less than three weeks before the pulls. I tested it out in Avon on Friday and broke a couple things. Fixed it on Saturday and pulled it again on Sunday."

Despite Roberts not placing high on the rankings, he conveyed his enjoyment when competing or watching and said that a highlight of participating in these events is being able to meet other families competing who have "[found] a hobby that becomes multi-generational [and] seeing those families put on a big-scale event in a small town."

The Lewistown Truck and Tractor Pull continues to be a highlight of the summer, offering a unique blend of competition and community spirit for all ages.
