By: Forgottonia Times™ Report

Industry, Illinois celebrated its annual Pinhook Days with a vibrant display of community spirit and heritage from June 14-16th. Pinhook Days was a cherished tradition in the area's history, showcasing the small town's pride and unity. Having gone through many years without celebrating Pinhook Days, several community members were missing the summer festivities, and in 2021, a group of individuals came together to revive the town's tradition. Calling these the "Come Back Years," the team worked hard to coordinate a weekend full of festivities.

Throughout the three days, attendees enjoyed various activities catering to all ages and interests. From carnival rides and games for children to live music and a bags tournament, there was plenty of entertainment for all who attended. Saturday began with breakfast open to the community and a Tractor Show to start the morning with a bang. Following the show, the parade wound through town, drawing many excited onlookers who waved excitedly and collected candy thrown by the parade participants. The Industry Fire Department also hosted a water fight and helped to cool down many of the kids present. A Bags tournament followed later in the day, and the night ended with a performance by the Plastic Green Armymen.

Pinhook Days is not only a time for celebration but also a means of preserving Industry's history and fostering community bonds. It reminds the town of its resilience and its dedication to preserving traditions while creating new ones. As Industry looks forward to future Pinhook Days, the event continues to grow in popularity, drawing in more participants and spectators every year.
