Canton Elks Lodge Charity Ball: An Evening of Giving Back

By: Forgottonia Times™ Report

The Canton Elks Lodge #626 will hold its Annual Charity Ball on Saturday, December 14, an evening of community, camaraderie, and philanthropy. The festivities will feature cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a formal dinner, dancing, and a charity auction.

Proceeds from the evening will go directly to supporting a range of charitable initiatives spearheaded by the Elks Lodge, including providing Christmas baskets and gifts for local families, scholarships for Spoon River College students, and opportunities for children and adults to participate in programs like Camp Big Sky and the Special Olympics.

The Elks, a nationwide fraternal organization, are dedicated to improving the lives of community members through benevolent programs. Their mission is to “invest in their communities through programs that help children grow up healthy and drug-free, meet the needs of today’s veterans, and improve the quality of life.” Locally, the Canton chapter has long been a pillar of the community, investing in projects such as youth sports, the Easter Egg Hunt, and community-building opportunities like Youth Acres.

The Charity Ball offers businesses and residents a chance to contribute to these efforts. The Lodge is seeking auction items or monetary donations, which can be mailed to Canton Elks Lodge at 61 West Elm St. Canton, IL 61520. They ask for contributions to arrive by December 6 to allow for preparation. Donations are tax-deductible, and receipts will be issued.

The Canton Elks Lodge encourages all community members to attend or support the event. Those unable to attend can still play a role by contributing to the auction or donating directly to the Lodge. For more information or to arrange for donation pickups, call 309-647-0200.

With a legacy of service and generosity, the Canton Elks Lodge #626’s Charity Ball is a staple of the holiday season, uniting the community in the spirit of giving.
