Cornucopia’s Fall Festival: A Local Gathering of Food, Plants, and Animal Rescue
By: Forgottonia Times™ Report
Cornucopia Natural Market and Deli joined in the autumn festivities with their Fall Festival on Sunday, October 20th, drawing an excited crowd from 11am to 4pm. The festival featured local vendors, giveaways, and opportunities for the community to connect over shared interests in food, plants, and animal rescue efforts.
One of the festival's highlights was the presence of the Western Illinois Animal Rescue (WIAR), which brought along several adoptable dogs and cats in hopes of finding them new homes. Shoppers were greeted at the entrance by the animals' sweet faces, which brought smiles to many attendees. For those unable to adopt, WIAR offered Halloween-themed t-shirts featuring cats and dogs dressed as ghosts, with proceeds benefiting the animal rescue organization.
The event also catered to plant enthusiasts, with Hidden Grove Homestead showcasing a variety of locally adapted perennial plants from fruit trees to herbs. Hidden Grove was on site, ready to answer questions and offer guidance to attendees.
Inside Cornucopia, guests were treated to samples of some of the store's organic and natural products. Fresh, hot mulled apple cider, crunchy air-fried kettle chips, and granola were among the offerings, giving shoppers a taste of what the local market has to offer. The market, known for its commitment to providing locally grown, organic foods and international dishes, created a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reflected its focus on community and sustainability.
In addition to the food and plants, Cornucopia offered two wellness basket giveaways, rounding out a festive day that celebrated the best of local goods and community partnerships. With a perfect mix of fun, food, and purpose, Cornucopia's Fall Festival left a lasting impression on everyone who attended.
