MACOMB’S 2024 HERITAGE DAYS FESTIVAL SALUTES LIZZIE MAGIE & MACOMBOPOLY

(Macomb, IL) – The Macomb Heritage Days Committee, and Visit Unforgettable Forgottonia are proud and excited to announce the details for Macomb Heritage Days 2024. This year’s dates are Thursday thru Sunday, June 27-30 on Macomb’s Downtown Square, historic Chandler Park and Municipal Airport. 2024 marks the 42nd year this enduring festival has been presented annually, with food, games carnival rides and free entertainment and live music to the citizens of Unforgettable Forgottonia.

This year’s theme, “Celebrating Macomb’s Lizzie Magie and Macomboply” is in recognition of Lizzie Magie, born in Macomb in 1866 and inventor of the game Monopoly, and to showcase Macomb’s newest permanent attraction in her honor, Macomopoly.

The event will feature the annual Bob Anstine Memorial Heritage Days Parade, American Banner’s Big Carnival Midway, Cooled Beer & Cocktail Tent, the Annual Classic Car Show, an Exotic Animal Petting Zoo with free pony rides , the Macomb Municipal Airport’s Sunday Pancake Breakfast Fly-In, and Musical Entertainment from across the country. This year’s free concert lineup includes, direct from Los Angeles the sun-drenched psychedelic indie pop sounds of Triptides and modern rock guitar god Davy Knowles. Plus, American Idol’s Rocky Peter, Chicago blues from Joe Pratt & The Source One Band, Grateful Dead Bluegrass from Stringfield, jazz, funk & soul from Big Wade & The Black Swan Theory, The Flatbed Fords with the music of the Eagles, and even more!

“The all-volunteer Heritage Days Committee works long and hard, year-round in the effort to bring Macomb, McDonough County and Unforgettable Forgottonia a top-notch festival experience and the finest musical and fair entertainment in the area, absolutely free of charge to the public.”, said Heritage Days Co-Chair Jock Hedblade. “In doing so, we strongly feel Heritage Days 2024 will be truly Unforgettable.”
