Turn Up the Heat: Grills Gone Wild Fundraiser Keeps Bushnell's Pool Afloat!

By: Forgottonia Times™ Report

As summer transitions to fall, the Bushnell community shifts its focus to preserving a local treasure: the Bushnell Community Pool. After a season of beating the heat, the community is rallying to ensure this cherished spot remains vibrant for years to come. The "Grills Gone Wild" fundraiser, set for September 21st at the Bushnell VFW Post #1422, promises to do just that.

For over 60 years, the Bushnell Community Pool at 161 Cole St. has been a summer staple, offering affordable fun for locals and visitors alike. As the pool closes for the season, attention turns to maintaining and improving this beloved landmark. "Grills Gone Wild" serves as both a celebration of community spirit and a vital fundraiser to support the pool.

The event features a grilling contest where local enthusiasts compete for the top spot. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a backyard hobbyist, it's a chance to shine. Not into grilling? You can participate as a judge, tasting and rating the entries while supporting the pool.

Beyond the grill-off, there will be live and silent auctions, with all proceeds benefiting the pool's upkeep. The Bushnell Pool Board is seeking donations for these auctions, including baked goods, handcrafted items, and themed gift baskets. Corporate sponsors and monetary donations are also welcomed.

"Grills Gone Wild" is more than just a fundraiser—it's an opportunity for the community to gather, celebrate, and give back. Join the fun, enjoy fantastic food, and help ensure the Bushnell Community Pool continues to create lasting memories for future generations.
