Shenanigans in Shamroxville: Knoxville’s St. Patrick’s Day Celebration Returns
By: Forgottonia Times™ Report
Knoxville’s St. Patrick’s Day parade and party, appropriately dubbed “Shamroxville,” is back and bigger than ever on Saturday, March 15. The parade kicks off at 1 pm with a lively procession down Main Street, accompanied by an all-day celebration featuring local businesses, family-friendly activities, and a high-energy party at Big Catz with live music from Neon Nova following the parade.
Morgan Seabloom and Tessa Jones, who took over organizing the parade last year, have turned it into a true community-centered event aimed at drawing both families and adults to downtown Knoxville.
For those arriving early, the Sip, Shop & Stroll event is a superb way to explore downtown Knoxville before the parade begins. Visitors can enjoy signature drinks at Stir Coffee Company while browsing a special Kendra Scott Pop-Up hosted by Ducky’s. Next door, Jen’s Western Boutique will offer stylish finds alongside a Piercing Bar by Samantha Albritton Aesthetics. The Shoppe Next Door will showcase a variety of seasonal and everyday must-haves, and Carnival Delight’s will satisfy sweet cravings with festive treats like green funnel cakes, slushies, and shakes.
Families with young children will find plenty to do before the parade kicks off. The Knoxville Community Fund is sponsoring a free playtime at The Playard in Knoxville from 9:30–11 am that will offer kids an opportunity to enjoy interactive activities and snacks until capacity is reached. Additionally, Knox County Clerk Scott Erickson will host a special St. Patrick’s Day storytime at the Knoxville Public Library from 11:30–12:30 pm, making for a charming way to fill your child’s afternoon before the parade.
Following the parade, the festivities move to Big Catz for what has become the biggest St. Patrick’s Day party in the area. Last year’s event saw a packed dance floor and an unforgettable performance from Neon Nova, and this year promises to be just as electric. Attendees can expect lively entertainment and an atmosphere brimming with Irish cheer.
Whether you’re looking for a day of shopping, family fun, or a night of dancing and celebration, Shamroxville fulfills it all! Don your green, gather your friends and family, and get ready for an unforgettable St. Patrick’s Day in downtown Knoxville!
