By: Forgottonia Times™ Report

Have you wondered where that delightful smell and lively music has been coming from every month this summer? Don't miss out! Seminary Street will come alive one last time to wrap up summer with First Fridays on Seminary Street.

If you missed the penultimate event on August 2nd, mark your calendars for Friday, September 6, from 5:00-8:00 pm, as Galesburg's charming brick Seminary Street transforms into a vibrant festival. This final First Friday event will entertain festival goers, offering live music, delicious food and drinks, and a warm, festive atmosphere.

Local musicians will create a delightful soundscape, food, and drink vendors will line the sidewalks, offering a variety of treats to taste, and twinkling lights overhead will add to the enchanting ambiance, making it a perfect evening to relax and enjoy the company of friends and family.

Throughout the summer, ‘First Fridays on Seminary Street’ has been a huge success, thanks to community support and generous sponsors such as Tompkins State Bank, OSF Healthcare OnCall, and F&M Bank. Knox College proudly sponsors the upcoming September 6 event.

Adults can look forward to sampling beverages, and the Galesburg Community Art Center and Discovery Children's Museum will provide free activities for children, making it an event for all ages. Local shops will showcase their latest products, and many restaurants will set up stalls offering their most popular dishes and drinks.

Bring a lawn chair, as seating is limited, and prepare for an evening filled with community spirit and summer fun. If you missed the earlier events, this is your last chance to experience the joy and excitement of First Fridays on Seminary Street! Mark your calendars, gather your loved ones, and head downtown Galesburg for a memorable evening to close out the summer in style. See you there!
